Sensational Scandal: Bertha Michelle Mendoza Accused of Planning Her Own Kidnapping
Documents obtained from the archives of the National Civil Police (PNC) shed light on a disturbing kidnapping case that occurred in 2009. They reveal disconcerting details suggesting that the victim, Bertha Michelle Mendoza, planned the kidnapping with her two daughters in order to incriminate her ex-husband and generate false accusations against him.
According to police reports, during the kidnapping, Bertha Michelle Mendoza and her two daughters were in the company of the daughter of the mayor of Zunlito, Suchitepéquez. However, subsequent investigations have revealed that the kidnapping was masterminded by Mendoza herself, in collaboration with her mother, prosecutor Claudia Martina Muñoz Andrade.

According to his statements, prosecutor Muñoz Andrade was dismissed from the Public Prosecutor’s Office after the same Ministry determined that she presented false evidence in a case related to the police and against her for violence against women. Also, alleged irregularities in the use of resources and abuse of power were alleged. According to prosecutors consulted, Muñoz Andrade’s dismissal occurred in 2010.
